For the second year in a row, Illustrated Children's Ministry is pleased to be offering our Lenten family resource, An Illustrated Lent for Families.
In case you missed it on our blog, please take a few minutes to read a review of last year's An Illustrated Lent for Families by Bishop-Elect of the Diocese of Indianapolis, The Rev. Jennifer Baskerville-Burrows. Rev. Baskerville-Burrows wrote the following about last year's devotional resource:
The illustrations are beautifully drawn and invite—almost compel—one to get out the markers and spend time with it. The devotions that are assigned to each week are easily adapted for whatever age person is in the conversation. They don’t presume that you’ve been to seminary to engage the questions and they serve as prompts for how we are called to live as Jesus would have us live. [Read more here...]
This year, An Illustrated Lent for Families includes devotionals, activity sheets and coloring sheets for families to use together as they journey through Lent.
We know that there are churches who enjoy creating their own devotional resources for families in their congregations - but we are also aware of how time-consuming that can be. We want to be able to resource and support families, as well as provide a theologically-rich resource for churches to feel comfortable sending home with their children and families. We have over 25 denominations who use our materials, so you will find that our materials work in a variety of different theological settings and contexts.
We received a lot of positive feedback from last year's Illustrated Lent for Families, and we're even more excited for the release of this year's version.
When you purchase An Illustrated Lent for Families, we will provide you with:
- Family Devotions: Seven Weeks of Family Devotions that are simple, but meaningful. The seven devotions are based on Gospel readings from the Revised Common Lectionary for Lent 2017. Each devotion includes discussion questions, an activity and a suggested memory verse for each week.
- Coloring Sheets: There are seven coloring sheets that focus on each of the seven memory verses that go along with the devotions.
- Activity Sheets: Each devotion is also accompanied by an activity sheet that families and children can do together.
We are very excited about this year's resource, and we know that you will love it too.
